This past year, as we broke ground on our new state-of-the-art facility in Frederick, Maryland, we also deepened our commitment to growth rooted in responsibility. Our 2024 Sustainability Report shares the next chapter in that journey — one that blends craft, care, and conscience in equal measure.

Just like every loaf we bake, our sustainability efforts rise from a balance of essential ingredients:


Flour: Our Foundation for Growth

Flour is the base of every recipe — and for us, growth is the base of every goal.
In 2024, we began construction on our new Frederick facility, designed with energy efficiency, waste reduction, and advanced baking technology at its core. This expansion allows us to meet growing demand while baking sustainability into every step of our process.


Water: Using Resources Wisely

Water brings our dough to life — and we treat it with the respect it deserves.
This year, we expanded how we measure and manage our resource use, identifying new ways to reduce our environmental impact in our operations while improving overall production efficiency.


Levain: Growth and Innovation

Our signature levain helps our bread rise, just as innovation helps our sustainability program grow.
We’ve continued to develop smarter packaging solutions, reducing materials and increasing recyclability, while exploring opportunities to reduce our food waste.


Hands: Our People and Partnerships

Behind every loaf is a team — and behind every milestone is a community.
